Praying for Our Workplaces

The historic photo above shows 52,121 Christians from the marketplace who gathered in downtown Kansas City in 1923 to honor Christ.  If you don’t know the famous story behind it,  CLICK HERE.

It brings to mind the passage from Hebrews 12:1 (The Message) “Do you see what this means — all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on?  It means we’d better get on with it.  Start running — and never quit!”

Decades later in 1967 at the close of a 10-day crusade in Kansas City that brought thousands to Christ, Dr. Billy Graham referred to the heartland when he said, “there are no people in America better equipped to lead the nation back to God.”  And 30 years after that statement Dr. Graham foretold of a time when the marketplace would play a major role in our nation’s return to God.  We believe that time is NOW!

Inspired by the historical 1923 gathering and the words of Dr. Graham, God’s Relay Race exists to create awareness of KC’s spiritual roots and build upon the legacy we’ve received.  Every month we gather for life impacting PRAYER focused on where we spend most of our lives…the workplace.

God desires for us to partner with Him in life (including our work), and we do that through prayer.

• Do you have a desire to go deeper with God in a workplace Kingdom-purpose?

Join other workplace men and women from around KC as we collectively seek God in prayer for fulfillment to these questions and much, much more.

Where:  Plexpod Westport Commons (300 East 39th Street, KCMO; Event Room 1L on the southwest corner of the first floor of the beautifully refurbished and repurposed school building)
