GOD'S WORD WILL ACCOMPLISH WHAT HE SENT IT TO DO!

BY ERIC ROCHESTER - FOUNDER, PRESIDENT, AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE SENDING PROJECT

When I was a kid, my parents and I would regularly travel about 10 miles to visit some of our extended family in a nearby town. Along that rural road, that we traveled what seemed like hundreds of times, there were a few signs posted that had various Scriptures on them. Verses such as Romans 6:23:  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” And Romans 5:8:But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” I read those Scriptures on those signs many, many times.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but the Lord was working in my life as I read those Bible verses.

Later on, as a teenager, I put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Reflecting on those Scripture signs now, there is no doubt in my mind that God’s Word was taking root and growing in my life, and that was a huge part of how God drawing me to follow Him. I will likely never meet the person who took the initiative to put those Scripture signs along that road until we are in heaven together. I definitely look forward to saying thank you to them for displaying the Word of God along that road! God’s Word is alive!

Now, through The Sending Project, one of our key priorities is increasing Bible outreach and engagement among those in the KC metro area and beyond. We have great opportunities and initiatives for you to connect with for this!

I want to highlight one of those initiatives in this blog post. It’s called ONE, and in the KC metro area context it’s called ONE KC. From onekc.bible:

“ONE is a world-wide initiative to engage with the words of Jesus everyday for 40 Days. Kansas City is joining 32+ global cities for ONE 2022 so that even more people will hear the name of Jesus—some for the first time ever.”

Churches can connect with the ONE initiative. More than 100 different churches from the KC metro area have already participated with ONE KC. And individuals can get involved with ONE KC, too.

Go to onekc.bible to learn more about this amazing opportunity!

We are so thankful for our ministry partnership with What If The Church?, the organization that facilitates the ONE KC initiative.

You can also check out the opportunity to participate with 1) the KC Digital Bible Initiative through outreach cards that each have a QR code which leads to the Bible in more than 40 heart languages that are active in the KC area, 2) the KC End-to-End Ministry Initiative with groups engaging with the Bible, and 3) the opportunity for Bible training and instruction.

We are still dreaming, praying, and working to see 1,000,000 people in the KC metro area engaging with the Word of God.

The Lord is blessing us with fantastic ministry partners that help the citywide Church of KC reach toward that goal of Scripture engagement which will result in significant individual and community transformation!

Whether it is Scripture signs along the road, a Bible outreach card, Bible outreach groups, or formal Bible instruction…God’s Word is being offered! You can participate in one or more of these previously-mentioned Scripture outreach and engagement initiatives, which are done in partnership with some of our great strategic ministry partners like American Bible Society, Kansas Christian College, Mainstream Bible Outreach Society, Faith Comes By Hearing, and What If The Church?

Truly, God’s Word will accomplish what He sent it to do!

Isaiah 55:11 “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
