Police & Faith Leaders Network Gathering

The Police & Faith Leaders Network of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties has been meeting since the Summer of 2020 to encourage, educate and collaborate to better serve our communities. The Sending Project is glad to be one of the facilitators of this network. The Steering Committee, composed of representatives from the Police & Faith Communities, meets every other month.

Twice a year, this network hosts events to inform and educate our communities. These events are open to other police personnel and faith leaders throughout the KC metro area.

The final event for 2024 will take place on September 27, at the Olathe Police Dept, 501 E 56 HWY from 9:00am-12:00pm. A great lineup of presenters will be speaking on the following topics:

  • Update on the Transitional Housing Facility on 95th St in Lenexa – Restart Inc, Stephanie Boyer, Executive Director
  • Racial Profiling – Olathe PD, Professional Standards Unit
  • Resurrection Recovery Ministry at Resurrection Church (formerly COR), Bethany DePugh, Recovery Ministry Coordination Director
  • Juvenile Mental Health Services – Mercy and Truth Healthcare, Jason Bohn LCPC

Please register ASAP if you plan to attend. Admission is free. Feel free to arrive as early as 8:30am for coffee and treats and an opportunity to mingle with other attendees. Looking forward to seeing you there!
