Roy Moran
In 1992, Roy, his wife, Candy, and a group of four others started Shoal Creek Community Church, where Roy currently serves as the directional leader and spiritual literacy advocate. Over the years, Shoal Creek grew to over 1000 people through reaching folks who are not used to going to church. Roy’s book, Spent Matches: Igniting the Signal Fire for the Spiritually Dissatisfied (2015) promotes paradigm shifts to foster spiritual movements.
Until recently, Roy served as Global Platform Leader at New Generations, an international missions organization dedicated to igniting church planting movements. Earlier this year, He launched a new ministry, Mercy Alliance, to accelerate collaboration, tool development and leadership multiplication across disciple making movements globally. Roy will remain on the Board of New Generations and is fully committed to the team and its mission. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the International Institute of International Medicine and Beyond.
Rob Wegner
Rob Wegner is a ragamuffin who lives to love Jesus, his wife Michelle, their three adult daughters—Maddie, Whit, and Belle—and the extended spiritual family in his neighborhood.
He is a founding leader and director of the Kansas City Underground, a network of microchurches seeking gospel flourishing across the city. Rob has also served as Director of Microchurch Next for Exponential, and now serves as Mobilization and Practice Catalyst for Exponential, where he designs training and convenes tables for practitioners to learn from one another.
Rob is the author of Extraordinary Prayer and Deeply Rooted, both offered freely to anyone passionate about equipping ordinary people to live on mission. He also co-wrote The Starfish and the Spirit: Unleashing the Leadership Potential of Churches and Organizations with Lance Ford and Alan Hirsch, a book fueling a quiet reformation many of us are longing for. He’s writing regularly at his substack StarfishYou.
When he’s not equipping leaders or writing, you’ll find Rob reading, listening to and making music, drinking great coffee, jogging with his dog Atticus, or hiking and biking with Michelle. He and Michelle recently moved to the Missouri side of Kansas City—proof that God’s call can even get you to pack boxes, purge closets, and start over again on another missionary journey.
