Amanda Smith has dedicated the last 13 years to church leadership and non-profit work, focusing on supporting individuals repenting of homosexuality/gender confusion. Her work spans pastoral care, prayer ministry, and outreach/evangelism, with a deep commitment to guiding others toward spiritual transformation. As a missionary with Desert Stream/Living Waters (DSM/LW), Amanda is deeply concerned about the conflicting messages regarding LGBTQ inclinations that circulate within parts of the Church. She is grieved by the growing trend of rejecting the transformative power of the gospel and scriptural teachings, which, in turn, leads others astray. Having personally navigated intense struggles in her own journey of transformation and sanctification, Amanda has witnessed how God helped her to overcome gender confusion and same-sex attraction through well-equipped church members. Amanda finds great joy in helping others walk a similar path. Over the past year, she has felt a strong calling to devote her voice and energy in this area in a more focused way. Along with working alongside DSM/LW to train church leaders worldwide, she is using this next year to discern opening a non-profit focusing on supporting and resourcing the church in the realm of sexual and relational brokenness.
