He orchestrated ministry in one of the busiest and most multicultural intersections in the world. Besides his chaplaincy\, Pastor Lewis also served as the program director of Youth for Tomorrow\, a residential facility for at-risk adolescent males. \nHis work has been featured in the Washington Times\, People Magazine\, the Family Research Council magazine and other articles and books. \nPastor Don testified before the senate subcommittee\, Children\, Youth and Families on behalf of pro-family organizations in Washington D. Richardson is the President of Carver Baptist Bible College\, Institute and Theological Seminary in Kansas City\, MO. In 2007\, Dr. Richardson was 1 of 60 urban youth leaders in the United States to be selected by the DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative to be further developed in the area of leadership. He completed his training with the DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative in May 2009.  In July 2015\, Dr. Richardson became a national trainer with the DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative in the area of Scenario Planning.  In February 2016\, Dr. Richardson received the Healthcare Provider Diversity Award given by the Hospital Hill Diversity Council\, which recognizes medical professionals for their accomplishments in providing culturally competent care to underserved communities.  In October 2016\, Dr. Richardson received the 2016 Pharmacy Alumni Service Award from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Pharmacy. \nPrior to entering the ministry on a full-time basis\, Dr. Richardson served as Assistant Director of the UMKC Drug Information Center and as a member of the faculty at the University of Missouri – Kansas City in the School of Pharmacy.  His areas of teaching and practice expertise are Drug Information and Competitive Technical Intelligence. While serving as faculty\, Dr. Richardson received the Rho Chi Outstanding Teaching (Teacher of the Year) Award and the Catalyst Award from the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals.  Dr. Richardson received his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1998. He completed a specialty residency (1999) and fellowship (2000) in the areas of Drug Information and Competitive Technical Intelligence at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Drug Information Center. He is a graduate of Carver Baptist Bible College and Seminary in Kansas City\, Missouri\, earning a degree in Biblical Studies in May 2011. \nDr. Richardson was born and raised in St. Louis\, Missouri. He initially traveled to Kansas City in 1990 to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City\, where he met his wife\, Dr. Sequita Richardson\, who is a family practice physician. Along with the admonition to “watch and pray\,” those words are perfectly suited to a ministry built around journalism: watching the world to remain informed\, praying earnestly over events and remaining thankful that God is ultimately in control.\nDwight is wrapping up his fourth year as president-elect and president of the Evangelical Press Association\, having served a total of 10 years on its board. Founded by Billy Graham in 1947\, EPA is an international professional organization serving journalists and editors in Christian media. \nDwight and his wife\, Anita\, continue to operate Metro Voice as the region’s digital Christian news and community website. They also organize the annual Midwest Christian College Fair\, which will mark its 29th year in 2027. In addition\, they founded VisionIsrael.org\, an educational nonprofit that teaches young people about anti-Semitism and the Holocaust through a traveling exhibit and educational programs. \nThe Widamans also organize and lead tours to Israel\, Greece and Turkey on behalf of area churches and Christian organizations. She has worked collaboratively with medical professionals and every level of law enforcement\, including providing on-site crisis support during over a dozen sex trafficking sting operations. She has been honorably recognized for her work to reduce violence and to respond to those who’ve experienced violence. Geony is Founder and Executive Director of Value Unconditional\, a Christian ministry helping adults heal the wounds of yesterday so they can fully embrace the gift of today. She is passionate about seeing the Holy Spirit transcend human limitations in overcoming trauma\, crisis and harm to help people walk in the fullness of who God created them to be.\n\nGeony emailed me the following that God has been speaking to her: \nI was in Jeremiah and Matthew yesterday\, focused a lot on acknowledging\, confessing\, repenting and receiving peace. God wants His children to have peace\, and so often they don’t realize what they are missing out on by refusing to acknowledge their sin. In Matthew 10\, verse 26 stood out to me. I have pasted it below. This is slightly off topic\, but still in alignment with the overall theme. \nMatthew 10: 26 “So do not be afraid of them\, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed\, or hidden that will not be made known.” \nIt is so important to stay open and honest before the Lord. Confession is not negotiable. There are people experiencing torment/unrest purely because they are working so hard to resist acknowledging their error. They don’t want to be corrected. Instead\, they justify their sin. It is like swimming against the current\, instead of simply repenting and receiving true rest. But family\, faith\, and a growing sense of purpose started pulling him in a different direction.\nMike’s story isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about what happens when you stop chasing Your plan and start believing in God’s plan.  That journey and transition has lead Mike to the role of Executive Director of  Father’s Club\, an organization dedicated to strengthening families through father engagement in schools and communities across Kansas City. \nMike’s life verse is Ephesians 5:25. He and Patti had their children on three continents in three different languages in the ’80s. Engaging in Muslim ministry in the late 70s Robb and Patti have been involved in church planting\, discipleship/evangelism internationally and locally\, coaching marriages and ministries along the way. They answered the Lord’s call to be missionaries in 2005\, first as Associate Pastor\, then as Child Evangelism Fellowship missionaries from 2007-2023. The Lord led them out of CEF and into starting a ministry called Catching Hope and a Future. The fellowship that our Lord offers to the disciples that day on the sea shore and to us right where we are is so encouraging and life changing. To think that the God of the universe invites us to be so close to Him and enjoy His presence is incredible and inspiring. \nCatching Hope and a Future is a ministry of encouragement for South Sudanese youth living in Refugee Settlement Camps of Northern Uganda. Their daily life is a struggle to survive. I was blessed to attend two “HOW Design” conferences during my tenure there. \nWe moved to Lees Summit in 2006\, and I was awarded “2007 New Member of the Year” for the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce. Opportunities with the Lee’s Summit Chamber included planning the “Emerging Entrepreneurs” conferences\, founding the “Chamber Young Professionals” and being selected to sit on the Board of Directors. That experience was life-changing\, and I’ve been deeply involved in missions ever since. My earliest missions work was local\, serving in the Colorado Springs and Kansas City areas with Habitat for Humanity. \nIn 1994\, I volunteered with EMI on a project in Zacapa\, Guatemala\, working on a large orphanage campus. That trip set the stage for my long-term calling with EMI—a ministry I’ve now been part of for over 30 years\, including 26 years on staff. \nIn the fall of 1999\, I joined EMI’s staff at our headquarters in Colorado Springs. For more than 22 years\, I served as a full-time project leader\, guiding teams of architects and engineers on short-term mission trips. EMI partners with Christian ministries already making a Kingdom impact\, helping them plan and develop their facilities—ranging from hospitals\, seminaries\, and schools to agricultural projects and more. Since joining EMI\, I’ve traveled to over 50 countries and conducted mission work in 35 countries. My work has taken me throughout Africa\, Southeast Asia\, Central America\, and the Caribbean\, with a few projects in Europe and Central Asia\, including some in more closed-access countries. \nOver the last two years\, my focus has shifted to serving as an MPD (Ministry Partner Development) coach. In this role\, I train and equip new and existing staff\, interns\, and fellows to build strong support bases so they have the resources needed to sustain the ministry God has called them to. \nRex joined staff with EMI in 1999. Chad loves helping people discover their calling in Christ and take steps toward a transformed life. In his early 20’s\, Chad rode bulls and it was at a bull riding school where he first encountered Jesus in a way that changed everything. That same gritty\, real-life faith now fuels his heart for walking with others through their own discovery in mission. He and his wife\, Allison\, have two grown kids\, Zane and Zoe\, and together they’ve served in ministry for over two decades. God led Chad and Allison to join the DYM team almost 24 years ago and has used all of those ministry experiences of working with youth and co-leading international mission trips plus serving as a rodeo chaplain for 10 years to fuel his desire to see every follower discover their mission.\n  \nWhen he’s not mentoring\, teaching\, or meeting people in unlikely places\, you might find Chad on the pickleball court at the local community center where he enjoys building friendships and living out the Gospel in everyday ways. He believes ministry is best done through real relationships\, honest conversations\, and consistently showing up with the love of Jesus. \nChad Chambers can be reached at chad@desotoyouthministries.org \n********************************************************************* \nTricia Conley will share with us about the Fresh Start KC ministries. \n \n My name is Tricia Conley.  My husband Gary and I\, along with 5 other team members\, started small nonprofit called Fresh Start KC Ministries in 2020.\n  \nWe are under the umbrella of DYM (Discover Your Mission) in De Soto\, KS. \nOur focus is helping organizations in the greater KC area that are helping individuals transition from homelessness. \nBecause we are a small group with little recourses\, we started seeking out already established nonprofits whose focus is working with individuals seeking to stay off the streets. \n What we do\, is to partner with these organizations through various ways of support. \nFor example\, Fresh Start KC sponsors apartments for residents at Hillcrest Transitional Housing as well as helping with construction/repair needs. \nWe also join in the efforts at Eden Village in Kansas City\, Kansas\, and Homework’s USA in Lawrence\, Kansas. \nThe heart of our group is to help those truly seeking to stay out of homelessness by offering the needed support to those organizations seeking to do just that. \nMy husband Gary and I have owned and operated a Construction company over the last 35 years called Conley Construction\, Inc. We increasingly felt a burden over the years to help those needing help to stay off the streets. \n We use our construction knowledge and wide base of contacts to help support our nonprofit efforts. \nProverbs 3:5-6. We aim to be a catalyst—helping others fulfill their calling and advance God’s Kingdom. \nJames 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom\, let him ask God\, that giveth all men liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him! \n  \nJohn Wilson can be reached at john@kenyapartners.org \n********************************************************************* \n \nLee Jost will update us on NCircle ministry.\nLee Jost was born and raised in Kansas City.  He has been married for over 36 years and is a father and grandfather.  Lee started his career as a minister and continues to pastor a small church in Olathe.  In 2011 Lee and a group of concerned church members saw a gap in services for justice involved families.  They began running a family program designed to help justice involved families grow stronger and more stable.   Many of the people in the program were under employed so in 2012 they began a job training program.  In 2016 Lee launched NCircle\, an independent education based 501c3.  Today they partner with Johnson County Corrections\, Johnson County Community College\, Goodwill of Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas\, the Johnson County Library and local employers to provide justice involved individuals a pathway to training and good jobs.  NCircle\, has served hundreds of families who are impacted by incarceration.  Today the programs provide training for men and women entering the workforce post incarceration through their College of Trades.  Teens under the care of corrections find purpose and direction through Discovery; a workforce discovery program helping teens understand the skilled trades.  In 2022 NCircle launched a pilot partnership with Zephyr Products of Lansing Kansas and Brothers in Blue.  Working with Private Industry and trusted nonprofits\, NCircle is providing soft skills training on the job for work release employees and in partnership with Brothers in Blue hosting a job club that prepares men for employment upon release from prison.  In 2025 NCircle launched StepNext\, a youth mentoring program designed to connect stable adults to justice involved youth in Kansas. I have also attached a picture of Willie and I with a few of our volunteers inside a local juvenile detention center and a handout about Youthfront Pathways.\nAlex Mathew serves as the Director of Youthfront Pathways\, overseeing teen parent and juvenile justice programs that were formerly part of Youth For Christ USA. Alex and his team hosted their first Bible study in a juvenile detention center over 12 years ago with just one volunteer. Today\, Youthfront Pathways serves 240 teens with over 30 volunteers and four staff members across five ministry sites. \nIn 2019\, Alex’s wife\, Andrea\, launched our teen parenting program. This initiative was created in response to countless prayer requests for assistance from young fathers and mothers within the juvenile justice system. Both Alex and Andrea serve in full-time ministry at Youthfront. They live in the urban core of Kansas City\, KS\, with their three sons\, Ezra (16)\, Axel (12)\, and Cyrus (10). \nWillie Johnson III\, our Arise Juvenile Justice Coordinator\, served as a volunteer for four years before joining our staff. Willie coordinates our teams of volunteers to lead ministry at juvenile detention centers across the city. Willie’s wife\, Selita\, serves as a volunteer alongside him\, leading Bible studies with him one to two times per week. \nAlex emailed me the following: The Scripture that has been close to my heart recently is: “If you are faithful in little things\, you will be faithful in large ones. Currently\, The Sending Project’s key ministry priorities include: Connection Revolution\, Scripture Saturation\, Celebration of the Nations\, and Trauma Healing. \nUnder the banner of Connection Revolution\, Eric hosts a bi-weekly podcast featuring various leaders from the Body of Christ\, building awareness about their ministries and encouraging Kingdom connections. The Connection Revolution ministry also includes several citywide missional networks and other connection ministry efforts. The strategy is this: better Kingdom connection among Jesus followers results in greater advancement of Jesus’ revolutionary truth and love. \nEric enthusiastically reflects: “The Lord brought together a convergence of several key themes to form and continue to shape my ministry calling: missional and cross-cultural ministry\, unity building\, ministry partnerships\, Kingdom networking\, God’s Word\, God’s heart for the nations\, and the citywide Body of Christ working together well.” \nBefore launching The Sending Project\, Eric served at the executive leadership level in the local church context and the nonprofit ministry context for nearly two decades. In total\, he has served at the executive leadership level in the church or para-church context for the past 34 years. \nEric is a big sports fan\, especially KC- area sports: including the Chiefs and the Royals…and\, at the risk of creating division…the nearby Kansas Jayhawks. Eric is quick to emphasize that our unity in Jesus transcends sports rivalries! \nEric and his wife\, Marcia\, live in the KC area\, and their blended family includes four adult children and their spouses\, plus nine grandchildren. Pastor Dennis is a clear voice for racial righteousness and social justice as being a true reflection of the love of Christ\, both outside and inside the Church (Matthew 22: 37-40). Leading by example\, he has implemented programs and established events in Kansas City promoting the well-being of children\, youth and families\, as well as racial reconciliation\, through community support and collaboration. \nPastor Solis was instrumental in starting CURJ  (Christians United for Racial Justice).  CURJ is a collaboration of Believers from various churches & organizations who love and follow Jesus and believe God has called the Body of Christ to live in unity and use its prophetic voice to nurture true justice in a multicultural\, pluralistic society. As Christ’s Ambassadors it is our essential witness to model and work for justice to the glory God. \nDennis holds a Master of Divinity degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary and taught graduate level courses on Urban Ministry.  He has served as a pastor in the Church for 40 years.  He and his wife Sherri have been married for 46 years.
