Imagine a citywide Body of Christ in the KC area that is working together well as it provides ministries of emotional healing.\nMeeting Room at Hillcrest Covenant Church: Fellowship Hall\nTopic: “One Heart\, One Home: Healing the Family Unit”\n\nFEATURED PRESENTER\nR. Elizabeth Miranda\n \nElizabeth is originally from Indiana\, where she graduated from Huntington University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She began her career working with teens in a residential facility\, and later as a mentor and leader for youth in the community. She migrated to Kansas City where she completed her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University in Lenexa\, KS in 2005. She furthered her education again in 2009 by completing KC Play Talk\, an extensive training program in play therapy. She is now a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S) and treats children ages 2 and up. She is also an EMDRIA Certified Clinician and an Approved Consultant/Trainer in EMDR\, which she does with both adults and children. Other advanced treatment approaches include: Trauma Focused CBT\, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy\, Theraplay\, and her personal favorite\, Dyadic Developmental Therapy (Attachment Focused Family Therapy). Elizabeth loves to help others learn both play therapy and EMDR and how to incorporate these modalities with children. \nWhile she began her career working with troubled teens in residential\, church\, and community agencies\, she has worked for nearly 17 years as a therapist\, focusing on children and families healing from severe trauma. She also works with adults\, couples\, and really enjoys teenagers. Her passion is helping families understand trauma and the unique ways it needs treated in relationships. Imagine a citywide Body of Christ in the KC area that is working together well as it provides ministries of emotional healing.\nThis gathering\, which will be in the Fellowship Hall at Hillcrest Covenant Church\, will provide equipping and resources to address father wounds and father absence.\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\nFEATURED PRESENTER\n\nDon Lewis\n \n\nPastor Don served as senior pastor of Cross Points Church for eleven years\, and seven years as an associate pastor of the same church with an emphasis on fatherhood to the urban communities in the Kansas City metropolitan area. He is currently serving as the community pastor of New Life City Church in downtown Kansas City\, MO. Pastor Don formerly served the Washington Dulles International Airport as its senior chaplain. He orchestrated ministry in one of the busiest and most multicultural intersections in the world. Besides his chaplaincy\, Pastor Lewis also served as the program director of Youth for Tomorrow\, a residential facility for at-risk adolescent males. His work has been featured in the Washington Times\, People Magazine\, the Family Research Council magazine and other articles and books. Pastor Don testified before the senate subcommittee\, Children\, Youth and Families on behalf of pro-family organizations in Washington D.C.\, and he also served as regional director for Prison Fellowship’s Mid-Atlantic Neighbors Who Care\, a crime victim’s assistance ministry. Pastor Don formerly served as a pastor in Oakland\, CA.\, Little Rock\, AR.\, and the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Join us in a conversation about spiritual health and wholeness\, where we compassionately and courageously explore how to protect\, restore\, and HEAL KC. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\nFEATURED PANELISTS\n\nAaron Hann\n \n\n\nAfter studying for pastoral ministry Aaron realized he could best use his gifts and life experience as a counselor. A passion for the local church and for soul care come together in Aaron’s special concerns for spiritual abuse\, helping those who have been hurt by churches and religious organizations\, as well as caring for pastors\, missionaries\, and ministry professionals. He has a master’s degree in counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary and a bachelor’s in Bible and pastoral studies from Moody Bible Institute. Aaron’s primary research interest is Johannine studies and how the Gospel of John speaks to the problem of religious trauma. Aaron and his wife Kristen live in Kansas City with their two teenage children.\n\n\nDr. Lisa Christensen\n\n\n\nDr. Lisa Christensen is the founder and CEO of Deeper Wells Life & Leadership. For nearly three decades\, she’s empowered church and community leaders to cultivate personal resilience and build thriving\, mission-driven cultures. A certified professional life coach and Biblical counselor\, Lisa delivers transformative coaching\, training\, and consulting services to individuals\, ministry teams\, and nonprofit organizations. \nShe holds a B.A. in Christian Ministry\, an M.A. in Transformational Leadership\, and a Ph.D. in Global Leadership Studies. Under her guidance\, many leaders have strengthened their leadership skills and organizational well-being. \nLisa and her husband\, Mike\, live near Kansas City and delight in time with their two married children and five grandchildren. \n\n\n\nErin Herner\n\n\nErin is a Christian Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults\, teens and older children to help heal from trauma and grow emotional maturity. Erin owns her own practice in Grandview\, MO\, Pleasant Boundaries Counseling\, inspired by Psalm 16:6; The boundary lines have fallen to me in pleasant places\, surely I have a good inheritance. She uses trauma focused therapies such as EMDR and Internal Family Systems\, as well as a Christian psychological model called the Life Model.
