Woods Chapel United Methodist Church and Significant Matters are teaming up with The Rainbow Network to champion The KC Nicaragua Project. The project will focus on expanding the work of The Rainbow Network in Nicaragua and demonstrate the power of the church to develop and execute innovative solutions that break the cycle of poverty.
Significant Matters is a Christian-based organization that believes the church is not only the hope for the “hereafter” but also for the “here and now.” Our mission is to mobilize the untapped resources and expertise within the church to innovate new approaches for helping the poor that protect the dignity of individuals and creates self-sustaining solutions.
The Rainbow Network
The Rainbow Network is on a mission to share the love of Jesus Christ by partnering with Nicaragua’s poorest people in healthcare, education, economic development, and housing. They provide hope and tangible help through innovative, integrated and sustainable solutions that enable the poor of Nicaragua to break the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient. Their housing program has provided a pathway to homeownership for over 1000 families who were once living in mud huts or scrap houses. Their microfinance program has provided over 75,000 microloans with a repayment rate of over 98% helping families break the cycle of poverty.
