IMPACTING THE WORLD THROUGH BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY
TECH FOR CAUSES AND THE KC CRYPTO MISSIONAL NETWORK
We are all familiar with The Great Commission and know that God has called Christ followers to dedicate their lives to that call. The sad reality for many of them, however, is that many Christian churches, mission organizations and missionaries end up spending a large amount of their time fundraising instead of actually living out their callings.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”- Matthew 28:19-20 (and figure out how to pay for it)
It has been a timeless dilemma. Putting on fundraisers, writing grant proposals, asking their closest friends and family for financial support as they slowly work toward their funding goal $25, $50, $100 dollars at a time. And though we are well aware of the need for this exercise of obedience and faith, it can become taxing and disheartening. We believe we may have found an additional way to solve this challenge!
Profound developments to technology are bringing new opportunities to how nonprofits, mission ministries, and churches will operate in the future. The current rise of Cryptocurrency, NFTs, and Blockchain technologies are giving these community outreach programs the ability to make radical changes in how they create awareness for their causes as well as raise the necessary funds to further their mission.
The Sending Project has partnered with Tech For Causes, a Kansas City based organization on the mission to bridge the gap between community causes and the community individuals looking to make an impact. Together we have formed the KC Crypto Missional Network to further explore and learn together how to leverage global cryptocurrency to provide funding for kingdom-advancing missional ministry.
As early missionaries used the extensive Roman highway system to take the gospel to all corners of the known world, so now new cutting edge tools of finance and communication continue to increase the advancement of the good news of God’s kingdom in the modern world. It truly is an exciting time to be a part of the Lord’s mission!
