GOD IS ORCHESTRATING HIS SYMPHONIC PLAN!
BY ERIC ROCHESTER - FOUNDER, PRESIDENT, AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE SENDING PROJECT
Life is challenging, and doesn’t always go the way we were expecting and hoping that it would go, but rest assured that the Lord is carrying out His mission according to His plan. He is the Great Orchestrator!
Envision us, the citywide Body of Christ, as a symphony with each of us having a specific part to play. God has written and arranged the beautiful melodies and harmonies. We all know that our life song includes some dissonance and some sections in minor keys, yet there are major Hallelujahs all along the way and this missional musical masterpiece ends with Hallelujahs continuing on FOREVER.
If you made a list of all of the evils in society, it could be very discouraging, but remember…we are in God’s symphony and we are the winning team! Indeed, it is one single team, one single symphony, with each of us playing our part. This implies that each follower of Jesus is playing their part. No part is meaningless, all parts are significant.
So, as you go about making your plans, including your plans for ministry, remember you are not alone. When we all pay attention the Great Orchestrator/Conductor, our beautiful song will be more noticeable by those who are not yet in this Kingdom symphony, and more will want to join us and the Great Orchestrator in making this heavenly music while we are here on earth.
In Matthew 18:19, Jesus said: “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” The Greek word for “agree” in that verse is: συμφωνέω symphōnéō, soom-fo-neh’-o – which means to to be harmonious, i.e. (figuratively) to accord (be suitable, concur) or stipulate (by compact):—agree (together, with).
Will you pray a simple prayer with me? Let’s pray that we, the KC metro area Body of Christ will agree (symphōnéo) in prayer and action regarding our journey with Christ as His followers. Say yes to the assignment(s) that the Lord is bringing your way and prayerfully take action…together. When we all do this, we will move forward with God’s peace together and be in step with His spirit like the Bible says in Galatians 5:25. Trusting in the Great Orchestrator for the right timing, pace, and volume as we live out our missional faith. This is the way to fulfilling our callings together as one orchestra – ONE CHURCH – in our city, and that will result in Kingdom advancement, and making God’s name famous, beyond what we can imagine.
