American Bible Society

American Bible Society has been working for 200 years to make the Bible available and alive to people who need to experience its life-changing message. Throughout its history, American Bible Society has worked to break down barriers that keep people from being transformed by Scripture, from printing a complete raised letter Bible for the blind in 1843 to providing God’s Word in a variety of languages for immigrants who came to the United States in the late 1800s.

As American Bible Society enters its third century of ministry, it’s focusing on three key areas of Bible ministry: accelerating Bible translation around the world so that all people will be able to engage with God’s Word in their heart language, increasing Scripture engagement in the U.S. through relevant and meaningful cultural channels, and using a Bible-based trauma healing ministry to bring God’s comfort, hope and healing to those whose hearts have been wounded by atrocities such as war, violence and natural disasters.
