The Sending Alliance Covenant

the sending alliance

There are many types of expectations for a church connected with The Sending Alliance.

INSPIRATIONAL

  • a commitment to journey together in grace and trust as we pursue the vision of the Church of KC being united in its efforts to connect with God’s local and global purposes (John 17:23)

PHILOSOPHICAL

  • a desire to learn from other pastors and church mission leaders
  • a willingness to talk with others about your church’s mission ministry
  • an openness to connecting with other churches in the context of local and global mission efforts
  • a willingness for people from other churches to connect with your church’s mission projects
  • a fondness for the citywide Church being united in its efforts to fulfill the Great Comission and reduce physical and spiritual poverty
  • in essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity (Saint Augustine)

THEOLOGICAL

PRACTICAL

  • establishing someone from your church to be a Liaison between your church and The Sending Project (TSP)

TSP hopes you’ll put one of your best leaders in this role!
This individual is expected to:

  • foster communication between your church and TSP
  • attend occasional TSP meetings for pastors and church mission leaders
  • be passionate about God’s local and global mission
  • be a proponent of unity in the citywide Church of KC
  • have influence and interaction with key leaders in your church
  • making people at your church aware of TSP mission opportunities and events however you choose and to whatever degree you choose
  • don’t recruit people to switch their involvement from their church to your church

HELPFUL (but not required)

  • offering your church’s mission initiatives and/or projects to be put into the mix of TSP opportunities
  • add the TSP website logo/address/link to your church’s website and other promotional material
  • put up a TSP poster in your church where your congregation will be able to see it and read it
